I really like of the information of this blog post. However, I think that the prospects of this advertisement can include another category, men. The headline, “Bite Me” is conveying a seductive message that could attract the men audience.
ReplyDeleteThe other objective that I think can be comment on this print advertisement is the text, “never fried. never baked.” concept. This is because, potato chips especially sealed in a packet is also known as unhealthy food (junk food). The advertisement is trying to change the perception of their version of pop chips with the other competitors. Hence, it may be their unique selling proposition too.

i agree to this blog post especially that problem part. They should have target another big market such as family, men, youngsters.
ReplyDeleteHowever, this ad really did good in getting attention. According to our own social experience, young women are more unlikely to eat unhealthy food such as potato chips because high calorie will lead to obesity/ getting fatter. Therefore, in order to persuade and convince, a big star like Katy Perry even claim that she eats Popchips at night in the ad.
From my opinion, logo is not that necessary for this ad as the endorser has been emphasized in this ad. The endorser is enough to convince and attract, and even can be linked with Popchips when people see Katy Perry.

I think that the ad may have used the wrong spokesperson for their prospects. Katy Perry to women is more of a fun, bright pop star, not a health endorser. If they wanted to stick with the same idea, they should have went with someone else who is known to be more health conscious and unfortunately, that is not Katy Perry.
ReplyDeleteIf Katy Perry is still to be used as the endorser, I feel that they should be aiming to the men instead, especially with such an alluring tagline. To men, Katy Perry is a pop star with a banging hot body, so with the said tagline can surely win them over a lot easier, even without mentioning that the product is a healthier snack.
