  1. First of all, the press release content must be newsworthy. As a writer, it is a must to think of what the audience may be interested to read or watch. So, before drafting the press release, it is important to ask oneself, “Is there anything “new” in my story? Next, an attractive headline must be included. So, it can attract audience to read the press release. It is also apply to the top line in the first line of the press release. If it is not attractive enough, the readers will not read any further. Lastly, use quotes to provide insight and not information. It shouldn’t be full of jargon or technical language.

  2. Other than the tips given above, no stereotype nor bias should be imposed into the article or press release as well. Audiences can be influenced by the power of media, for example, an incident is reported to the public and content is carried with criticism towards an ethnicity will lead our society into trouble. Media has the ability to prime people about what to think and how to think the way they want. Furthermore, the journalist can be fired or even sentenced to prison or penalty due to the mistake. Therefore, journalist should be "neutral" and concise while writing for a press release in order to deliver the message accurately without bringing negative effect to the society.

  3. I think part of producing an effective and efficient press release is to keep everything short, simple and straightforward. Aside from that, factors like proximity, prominence and timeliness also should be concerned as most of the time, the press release is written for the journalist and to whoever that is willing to help you or your company in attaining that free publicity. Therefore the contents within must be clear and captivating as these journalists are exposed to different types of press releases from different companies whereby their time is of the essence and they would only appeal to press releases that is worth their time in which they will only consider newsworthy stories or feature that has the potential of generating a mass audience or reader.
